• NYSESLAT (NY State English as a Second Language Achievement Test)

    NYSESLAT 2015

    The New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT) is administered annually to students with limited English proficiency in kindergarten through grade 12. The test measures students' annual growth in English language development. There are four separate components to the NYSESLAT: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
    El examen del “New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test” (NYSESLAT) es administrado anualmente a los estudiantes desde el Kindergarten hasta el duodécimo grado que tienen poco dominio del idioma Ingles. El examen mide el crecimiento y desarrollo anual del estudiante en el idioma inglés. El NYSESLAT tiene cuatro componentes: escuchar, hablar, leer y escribir.

    Testing tips
    • Please send your child to school every day on time. Attendance is essential for students to be successful throughout the year, and the testing schedule is demanding. Unless your child is ill, he/she should be in school. Favor de enviar a su hijo/a a la escuela a tiempo. Una buena asistencia es esencial para tener éxito a través del año. El calendario de la administración de los exámenes es muy exigente. A menos que su hijo/a se encuentre enfermo/a, debe de estar presente en clase.

    • Be sure that your child gets a good night's sleep and eats a healthy breakfast. Wellness is important every day, especially during testing. Students who are well rested and nourished will perform to the best of their ability on assessments. Asegúrese que su hijo/a duerma bien y tenga un desayuno saludable. El bienestar es importante diariamente, especialmente durante la temporada de exámenes. Los estudiantes que se sienten descansados y están bien alimentados podrán hacer lo mejor que puedan de acuerdo a sus habilidades en los exámenes.

    • Help your child relax and reduce unnecessary anxiety. Students are well prepared for important state assessments. Join us in reminding your child that testing is an opportunity to "show what you know." Ayude a su hijo/a a relajarse y reducir su ansiedad. Los estudiantes están bien preparados para los exámenes. Ayúdenos en recordarle a su hijo/a que un examen es la oportunidad de “demostrar lo que saben.”
