August 2018- United States Department of Education
Teach to Lead Summit- San Jose - Roosevelt NBCTs Yolette Wright, Tayana Thadal and Nicole Rivera are part of a team from Roosevelt, selected to attend the Teach to Lead Summit, where they will work on a plan to enhance K-12 STEAM education in the Roosevelt UFSD.
May 2018- Ms. Thadal, NBCT will be a presenter on "Science in the Classroom" at Cours Prives Aurel Exama, in Haiti.
April 2018-NBCTs from all over Long Island, joined in a Collegiate Circle at BOCES to talk about next steps for National Board Certification on Long Island.
December 2017- Roosevelt gets two new NBCT! Helen Hatem (WR) and Ana Burgio (RHS) achieve National Board Certification. Nancy Ticali, NBCT becomes Roosevelt's first renewed NBCT.
September 2016- Tayana Thadal, NBCT and Yolette Wright, NBCT are each announced as Venditto Grant winners at Superintendent's Conference Day. Mrs. Thadal will be using the grant to partner fourth grade and Kindergarten students at Washington Rose to complete a compassion project. Ms. Wright will be working with to improve Chemistry instruction in her class at RHS.

Teach to Lead Summit- Long Beach, California - Yolette Wright, NBCT is part of a team of Roosevelt High School educators selected to attend the Teach to Lead Summit.
July 2016- Vivian Isom, NBCT lead a group of RHS students on an unforgettable journey to Europe!
February 2016- All five Roosevelt NBCTs are pinned at the 2nd Annual Long Island National Board Summit at Adelphi University, where NBCTs Nicole Rivera and Tayana Thadal were presenters. Later they were featured in
NYSUT member briefing coverage of this event.
January 2016- Nancy Ticali, NBCT is announced the Roosevelt SCOPE Teacher Award recipient.
September 2015- Yolette Wright, NBCT (Roosevelt High School, Chemistry) selected the 2015 recipient of the Nichol's Foundation High School Chemistry Teacher Award, this award is given to a teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to chemical education at the high school level.

Teach to Lead Summit- Seattle - Washington Rose teachers Tayana Thadal NBCT and Nicole Rivera, NBCT were part of a team selected to attend the Teach to Lead Summit, where they worked on a plan to Cultivate Teacher Leadership in Long Island.
March 2015- Tayana Thadal, NBCT is the Roosevelt SCOPE Teacher Award recipient.
