On October 23rd 2012 Mrs. Yuengling and Ms. Rodriguez’s class went apple picking and pumpkin picking at Wickham Farms. The students had a great time. Upon arriving at the farm, the students picked a pumpkin. The rule was if you could carry it, you could have it. Then, the students gathered to view a large beehive. The students learned many facts about bees. The students then took a hay ride to pick their apples. Mr. Wickham showed the students the correct way to pick an apple. Later, the students completed wonderful thinking maps about apples and pumpkins. As a culminating activity in class the students cooked “no bake apple pie” and oatmeal apple cookies, they were delicious.
