This year is the second year in a row that Washington Rose School has had the first prize winner for the Health Plus Asthma Awareness Calendar! In addition, this year we also have the third prize winner as well!
Erika G. as first prize winner will have her work grace the calendar cover and the month of January for 2016. Lynn J. as third place winner will have her work featured as the month of March. Both girls are members of the Washington Rose Graphic Design Club mentored by Mrs. Wasson. Below are some photos from the awards presentation event at the Tweed Building in New York City!
Prize winning artists got to meet 1996 Olympic Gold Medal winner, Hurdler Derrick Adkins (the tallest gentleman in the back row) who spoke to the students about staying motivated to achieve your goals. Mr. Adkins praised the students fine work and encouraged them to continue their artistic pursuits.
