Teaching and Learning Conference
Over 3000 educators were in attendance at the National Board for Professional Learning Standards Teaching and Learning Conference March 13-14. Amazing speakers (Martin Luther King III, Mae Jemison, Pam Munoz Ryan, Pedro Noguera, and so many more!) presented at the conference where knowledge truly meets inspiration. Thanks to the Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) Grant, Superintendent Dr. Wortham, Roosevelt’s 5 National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) and other Roosevelt educators were able to attend the National Board Teaching and Learning Conference in Washington DC.
The Roosevelt SEED Grant is working to increase the number of NBCTs in Roosevelt, and to increase the number of NBCTs in leadership positions in the district. Currently Roosevelt’s NBCTs are working to provide support to Roosevelt teachers who are National Board candidates.
