Math-A-Thon
Our annual Math-A-Thon officially started on May 2,2012. Math-A-Thon is a volunteer-based fundraising program for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude is the leader in the fight against catastrophic childhood diseases such as leukemia, brain tumors and sickle cell disease. By participating in this Math-A-Thon, Washington Rose will be supporting the St. Jude mission of finding cures and saving children across the country and around the world. The program includes a free math curriculum supplement for grades 1-5 that students complete after obtaining sponsorships from family and friends.
Within the last 3 years alone Washington Rose students, grades 3-5, have raised $16,000.00 for St. Jude. This year each student that raises at least $20.00 will participate in our 4th annual Math Olympics, a fun filled day of games, food, rides and prizes. In addition, students will receive a raffle for a bicycle for every $25.00 raised. The raffle will be held during our Math Olympics on June 1st. Every dollar raised from our Math-A-Thon will be sent directly to St. Jude.
