• Washington Rose Teachers Learn on a National Level

Washington Rose teachers had the opportunity to dialogue about education on a national level this school year.  Third grade teacher Mrs. Thadal and Resource Room teacher Mrs. Rivera traveled to Washington D.C. to attend the first ever National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Teaching and Learning Conference.  While at their conference, they heard some very influential speakers including United States Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and Bill Gates.

Second Grade teacher Mrs. Kelly and Pre-Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Lipka traveled to Los Angeles, California to attend the Association for
Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) Conference.  The ASCD conference was an inspiring gathering of educators as learners. The workshops offered relevant information and strategies that we can implement in our classrooms.  They also raised many questions about how we can better understand the initiatives that will support our students toward academic achievement.
