Washington Rose Reads Summer 2018!myOn provides unlimited access to over 6000 E-books for grades prek-8, and this summer, from May 1- Sept 30 they are offering their program absolutely free in New York State. The district has been provided with log-in information which is in the attached documents in both Spanish and English. myOn can be accessed online on any device that has Internet access, and the E-books can be downloaded using the myOn app and read offline on iPads, android devices, Kindle fire, and chrome devices. There is a read aloud option and there are Spanish and bilingual books available. The books are particularly enticing for struggling readers, Special education students and ENL students. There are fiction, nonfiction and graphic novels which are very popular among our students. The program itself is very expensive normally so we definitely want to take advantage of it while it is free.
Capstone is now offering a free trial of e-books for the summer as well. Attached are log-on instructions in Spanish and English so you can take a look and share with students. It's just another great way to encourage summer reading!
